Hunting a Hungarian Vizlsa on live game to the stop whistle – Gundog Training
I took residential dog Florence training today on my land where we have a small shoot set up. The goal was to see how steady she’d be to flushed game. Over the last few days I’ve repeatedly re-enforced the stop/sit whistle hoping that when the moment came she’d listen.
I slowly worked the area and within a few minutes she flushed a pheasant and with a little re-enforcement she stood and let the bird fly away. Immediately after she continued to hunt with no signs of running. Over the hour Florence flushed 2 pheasants and a hare with stops on all. The picture below is of her after a young cock pheasant flush were she was observing him after he’d landed quickly.
